5 must have gifts

If there is one thing my children have too much of.. it’s toys.

And more importantly, unconditional love from us <3 But I guess you can never have too much love can you? So never mind..

But seriously, they have a lot of toys.. too much, really. We have a big family, and credit cards, so of course the holidays and birthdays are filled with toys. Which I understand, the holidays are not about toys. In our house, they are about family, quality time, and of course, Jesus. And I make a point to stress those valuable points in our lives. Not just the holidays but, every day.

But amongst all the many many toys, there are a few favorites that come to mind. These toys are seriously the best in our household. Here’s my list.

3-5 Year Old

  1. Eric Carle Book set – My First Smart Pad

This is the absolute best! My daughter is 3, and this is an awesome way to help her learn her letters and learning how to spell. And of course, Eric Carle is famous for his awesome pictures. We especially love Brown Bear, Brown Bear. It comes with 8 books, and one “Smart Pad”. On one side, it has the alphabet, and the other side are pictures of animals. The animals of course each make whatever sound, and the letters say what the letter is. Some of the books ask you to press the button with whatever animal is on that page.. but the best part (in my opinion) is that some books ask you to spell out the animal. So it is an awesome way to learn to recognize letters, and to learn how to spell. B goes through the books and spells all the animals.. she loves doing it and she feels so proud when she spells out an animal name and it makes the animal sound. Love her!

3-5 Year Old

     2. Basically any puzzle. We love this Paw Patrol Puzzle Set.

B LOVES puzzles right now. She works these a few times a week.. all 6 of them, over and over. There is actually 7 in this set, but the other one is kept at a different house in case she gets in the puzzle mood somewhere else. But over the past couple weeks I have seen some MAJOR improvement on her thinking skills as well as her patience while working puzzles. Because lets face it, puzzles can be frustrating, especially to a 3 year old.

1-5 Year Old

      3. Leapfrog Letter magnets

These are really cool to learn and play with. It keeps my girls busy while I’m cooking in the kitchen and they are great for activities we do for Tot School! I don’t know what I would do without my letter magnets. They also teach the sounds that each letter makes with a fun little tune when you place the letter in the school bus!

1-3 Year Old

     4. My Discovery House

This little house is so much fun. My toddler absolutely loves it! It keeps her busy forever. The front door opens to a mirror, it also has a working door bell, light switch, and “water faucet” that turns and makes a cranking sound. It has a few different settings, such as “day and night” with many different sayings for different areas of the house. This is def a must have for us!

Infant – 18 Months

     5. This awesome Teething Jewelry. Okay, so it’s NOT a toy, but still a must have!

They are made with BPA-free silicone teething necklaces and are strung with ribbon. They come in infant and adult sizes so your little one can wear them too. If you’d prefer breakaway clasps, that is a free option available for all necklace designs.

**You also get a 10% Discount when you use my special code – 2LITTLEMONKEYS – This expires December 31, 2015. So Be sure to use this when you buy this cute jewelry!**

I honestly have never got any teething jewelry – But I’ve really really wanted to get some for A! She chews on everything.. even the jewelry I already wear! So, why not get something safe for baby, and also so cute for mommy to wear? These would make a perfect gift to any new or expecting mother. *If* I do get pregnant again, I will most def be investing in some awesome teething jewelry!

I had never seen it either, until my mom bought it. I cannot express how happy and proud I am of my little one learning her letters, and spelling things, thanks to that gift. It’s truly amazing!

HAHA! Yeah I probably should mention that I pick them up at least three times a day. The letter M went missing months ago – I have no idea where it could be. But I use those letter a lot for tot schooling lessons, so they work great. And they are helping B learn the sounds that each letters make. So they are worth the mess 🙂 lol

I love the fact that books and jigsaws are both included in your list. I loved doing jigsaws with mu boys when they were little, but unfortunately they never developed a love of books.
Thank you for sharing your list with us, Tracey xx #abitofeverything xx
